WORKING ENVIRONMENT PREPARATION

Wall covering installation should be the last step of a construction or renovation. First allow the wood to acclimatize to the air and the ambient temperature for at least 72 hours prior to installation.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Please note that the wall covering will not correct any apparent or pronounced defects of the wall. It is therefore essential to make sure the wall or surface you are covering is in good condition prior to starting installation. Even out the surface by eliminating any remaining glue, nails, or any other material that could interfere with installation.

INSTALLATION

Make sure you have good lighting before starting the project. The first row of boards must be perfectly leveled. Find out in advance if the installation will require mouldings. If so, make sure to factor in the required space. We recommend measuring carefully to ensure the boards cut lengthwise line up with your starting line.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Before installing the product, the installer and/or owner must make sure that the wall complies with the conditions specified in this document. The installer and the buyer are responsible for inspecting the products before installing it. If the installer notices imperfections in product manufacturing or finishing and cannot install the product in an inconspicuous location or eliminate the imperfections, he or she should not install it. If there are damaged boards, put them aside and use them for cuts.

Five percent imperfection is considered acceptable for each box. This percentage does not include the cutting loss mentioned above. Once the product is installed, it is considered to have been accepted by the installer and/or the owner, even if he/she was not present during installation.

Customers must make sure the product purchased is suitable for the desired installation.

INSTALLATION

STEP 1

Draw horizontal lines at 1/4" (0.635 cm) and 1/2" (1.27 cm) from the floor or from the wall if you want to install it vertically. Make sure your line is leveled.

STEP  2

On the back of the first board, run a bead of PL construction adhesive 1/2" (1.27 cm) from all four edges of the board.

STEP  3

Secure the board by using the rabbet side down using on 18 gauge finishing nail.

STEP  4

Arrange the pieces by repeating steps 2 and 3. After each row, check if the board is leveled.

PLEASE NOTE Don’t forget to plan a space for the baseboard at the bottom of the wall.
